Our speaker will be Dr Pegi Vail.

Dr Vail is an anthropologist, film-maker and curator and is Co-Director at New York University’s Center for Media, Culture and History, where she teaches documentary film-making in NYU’s Culture & Media Program, as well as courses in the Anthropology Department at NYU.

Dr Vail will discuss her documentary set in Ireland titled , “They measured our heads”. It is a powerful film confronting the legacy of phrenology, colonialism, and documenting those reclaiming their cultural heritage and ancestral dignity on the island of Inishboffin.
